I am generally pretty flexible with the things I like. Character-driven stories are awesome, plot-driven stories are awesome, explicit porn is awesome, angst and bleakness are awesome, happy endings are awesome, humour is awesome! Etc.
A few of my favourite things include:
•Canon divergence AUs, especially Order 66 didn’t happen, or happened differently, AUs
•Fusion AUs more or less in the canon setting (eg daemons, sedoretus, coffee shop in the GAR universe, etc)
•Time travel, fix-it or otherwise – particularly characters going back in time to their own younger bodies to change their own pasts, I always love a good Peggy Sue
•Politics, history and worldbuilding
•Road trips (or spaceship trips, actual ship trips, etc)
•Enemies forced to work together by circumstance

•Recovery & healing from trauma
•Happier endings for characters who are miserable in canon

•New Mandalorians as antagonists
•Satine breaking her pacifist vows even if the fic otherwise treats her positively
•Characters who will canonically fall to the dark side being portrayed as irredeemably/predestined evil (yes this means Anakin but not only Anakin; please don’t even do this to Pong Krell).
I really like Anakin/Padme. I’m completely fine with it if you need to break them up for competing-ship reasons, but if you do, please keep it as a genuine relationship that didn’t work out. I.e. “We couldn’t make this work” or “we fell out of love” not “we never loved each other at all” or “it was just Force manipulation all along”. Or just write them as never having got together in the first place!
I also really like Anakin, in case that wasn’t obvious. I don’t want fic in which he did nothing wrong, because lol, he did quite a lot of things wrong, but if we’ve matched on a non-Anakin pairing and you only like Anakin as an irredeemable villain, I would prefer if you just didn't write about him at all. I absolutely enjoy Vader fic where he’s a flat-out villain – I just don’t want fic where he was always and forever evil, or that closes the door on the possibility of him ever coming back to the light.
I’ve divided up the rest of my letter into pairings rather than fandoms as I’ve requested some of the same pairings over multiple fandoms. Also for ease of sorting I’ve generally written pairing names out alphabetically; please don’t take the name order as any kind of top/bottom preference request!! (I don’t tend to care about top/bottom configurations at all.)
Ahsoka Tano/Asajj Ventress (TCW)
I love redemption arcs and enemies forced to work together by circumstances, so Ahsoka’s arc with Asajj was fantastic for me. I also really love all their parallels as the abandoned/unwanted apprentice – as much fun as Ahsoka&Maul were, Ahsoka&Asajj is the OG Ahsoka/Darksider ship for me. I really loved their interactions together, I’m disappointed they didn’t spend more time together in canon, and basically any story with the two of them would make me really happy.
Some missing details from the Wrong Jedi arc would be great, or maybe the two of them met up again during Ahsoka’s time alone before the fall of the Republic? Or if you would like to go AU, I would have loved to have seen bounty hunter Ahsoka, and/or an AU where Asajj lived and she and Ahsoka went on the run together after Order 66. (They’re both genocide survivors with complicated relationships with the people they lost; how do they feel about that?) Or maybe the happier AU where Order 66 never happened, Ahsoka went back to the Jedi, and spent the next decade in an on-and-off relationship with Asajj, supporting her back into the Light.
I have never read Dark Disciple because I refuse to accept Asajj’s death as canon lol, so feel free to ignore it, but I don’t mind if you want to work details in from it either.
Ahsoka Tano/Bo-Katan Kryze (TCW, Rebels)
I really like how their relationship has developed over time – all these minor bits of background in multiple shows adding up to this long and complicated relationship spanning decades. I just love how they’re ancient enemies who have also been allies repeatedly but they’re also never quite exactly on the same side; they both have really different agendas and goals a lot of the time. But we also don’t ever see very much of them actually working together in canon – getting to know each other, maybe saving each other, disagreements and friendship – so I would love anything fleshing that out!
I just really love how they stay in touch on and off over literal decades of war and rebellion; there’s scope for so many interesting stories there I think, as well as straight-up canon divergence AUs. Would they still have stayed in touch if Order 66 didn’t happen and Ahsoka rejoined the Jedi? What if Satine lived? I also think an Ahsoka/Bo-Katan time travel AU would be really, really funny – Bo-Katan just overreacts to everything, and meanwhile older Ahsoka is extremely chill about things that literally everyone else would be horrified by, and I think the two of them together, thrown into the past, would either fix everything or break everything differently in an extremely entertaining way.
Ahsoka Tano/Anakin Skywalker/Rex (TCW), Ahsoka Tano/Darth Vader/Rex (Rebels)
For Anakin/Ahsoka/Rex, I love the contrast between their playful friendships (they’re all so young!!) and the brutal reality of the war they’re stuck in, and how their initial relationships (Master-Padawan, General-Captain-Commander) get broken down as time goes on. I’d particularly love a canon divergence for this – Order 66 divergence (maybe Anakin goes with Ahsoka and Rex to Mandalore?) or maybe an AU where the war drags on for another decade and they sink into complete nihilistic codependency. But missing moments from canon would be lovely too (feel free to age Ahsoka up or not, as you prefer)!
And then of course everything gets even messier in Rebels! I loved the Rex-Ahsoka reunion and the Ahsoka-Vader trauma, but I am still disappointed we never got to see Rex reacting to Vader (though “Skywalker was one of the best Jedi of them all” was certainly a heartbreaking line). I would love anything that filled this gap with some kind of relationship between all three of them! Anything would be great, I just want all the emotional entanglements, the what-ifs and the guilt, knowing that none of them ought to care so much about people on the other side but unable to stop themselves. Time travel, canon divergence AU where Rex went with Ahsoka to Malachor, enemies forced to work together by circumstance, any of them being taken prisoner by the other(s) who then attempt to turn them... all would be really compelling!
Ahsoka Tano/Reva Sevander (Rebels, OWK, Mandalorian)
They still haven't met in canon (yet!) but I love the parallels between them and I think they have a lot in common; I'd absolutely love a story about them, set in any era. Maybe Reva runs into Ahsoka at some point after leaving the Inquisitors and learned more about the Jedi with her - or maybe they don't run into each other until much later, after the fall of the Empire? (The latter probably makes it easier to work around the Ahsoka-doesn't-know-about-Vader-until-Malachor issue, though I could absolutely buy Reva deciding not to shatter Ahsoka's illusions if they met earlier, too.) If you wanted to go full canon divergence AU, I'd absolutely adore a story where Reva managed to avoid the Inquisitors and ended up a jaded drifter like Kanan instead - or a happier AU where Order 66 never happened!
I enjoy all kinds of Reva joins the disaster lineage AUs, but particularly ones where Ahsoka is her Jedi Master, either formally in a happier Order 66 never happened AU where she rejoined the Jedi, or just in a slightly less bleak Order 66 divergence. I am absolutely up for messy Master/Padawan relationships - and Ahsoka/Reva in this context would just be really hot to me, as well as fitting in perfectly with a lot of what I already like about Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka's relationships - weird age gaps, kind of unconventional/dysfunctional compared to the Jedi norm even before Anakin fucked everything up, but ultimately very loving. But an AU where Reva is Obi-Wan, Anakin or even Yoda's padawan and she ends up in a relationship with Ahsoka would also be excellent!
Echo/Fives (TCW)
Echo/Fives is one of those ships that’s basically canon in my head, along with Cody/Rex, and it’s just as fucking tragic; Fives died not knowing that Echo was still alive, and Echo finally made it back too late to see Fives again. I would absolutely love any kind of fic about their romance – whether it’s fixing the tragedy or just digging in deeper to the sadness of it all; I do like canon-typical sadness as well as happy fix-its! Or just good old-fashioned life (and love) during wartime! I always love fic that digs down into clone culture - I particularly enjoy military-life tropes (PLEASE let them be assholes to each other sometimes!!) and sci-fi themed fic that leans into how clones are genuinely different from natborns (not better or worse, just different!).
Something about what life is like for Echo and Fives as ordinary troopers would be really fascinating – looking at the difference in training and/or status between them and the command-class clones who make up most of the named TCW characters; what the culture is like in the ranks where most clones may never even meet their Jedi. Did Fives have an embarrassing crush on, say, Cody when he was a shiny back on Kamino? (Yes.) Or life on Kamino – what was their ARC training like? Or just life as part of the 501st? Or maybe time travel – Echo going back to try and save Fives, maybe, or vice-verse?
Echo/Fives/Tup (TCW)
Everything I said about Echo/Fives above, really, except more so, because Tup’s story is yet another level of tragedy. Happy fix-it, canon-level what-ifs and angst, straight-up porn, it’s all good here. See above for my general love for cloneshipping/the default among most clones is sex-positive poly (which doesn't mean that everyone likes to fuck, just that for those who do enjoy sex and/or romance, monogomous couples are not the default). For reference, I really enjoy Fives/Hardcase, Fives/Tup, Fives/Rex, Echo/Rex and Echo/Fives/Rex as other background ships for the Dominos.
I’m particularly into this ship either as the focal point for an extremely satisfying “Order 66 is subverted/happened differently” AU where at least the three of them survived, or as something really bittersweet from the brief time in canon where all three of them were in the same place at the same time. If you wanted to explore Pong Krell angst, I’m all there for that too: my DNW around fallen Jedi is specific to fics where, like, Character A time-travels back two years before the Clone Wars and discovers that Pong Krell is already evil even though the conditions that led to him falling haven’t happened yet. I’m absolutely fine with canon-era fics where he is an antagonist!
Cody/Fox (TCW)
If Echo/Fives is my go-to for exploring what life is like for regular clone troopers, then Cody/Fox is my favourite window on life for the commander class. I love them both individually, and I really like their parallels as dedicated by-the-book commanders with a hidden asshole streak. I love the idea that as commanders with two of the most prestigous jobs in the GAR, they've been rivals jockeying to be the 'best' for most of their lives - rivals who know each other more deeply and understand each other better than anyone else is another favourite trope for me, and I'd love some of this for Cody and Fox!
And if Rex and Wolffe are the rebel survivors, then Cody and Fox are two of the most prominent clones who don’t rebel – I would be really interested in darker fic for these two, either in the lead up to Order 66 or after it under the Empire. Although an AU where they did rebel together would be lovely too! I’m also really fond of prewar Kamino as a setting, or life-during-wartime stolen moments. And I always absolutely love Order 66 didn’t happen AUs, and fics that focus on clone characters trying to find a place for themselves after the war. Order-66 AUs don't have to be fluffy, either - I'd really love something digging into survivor's guilt, and how fucked up it was that the Republic used the clones the way they did, and how Cody and Fox deal with the trauma of having been in command in that situation. Do they feel complicit in having sent some of their brothers to their deaths?
Cody/Anakin (TCW); Cody/Vader (TCW, PT)
Lately I can’t stop thinking about Cody/Vader! It would be so fucked up and I'm just really here for that! There are lots of (sad, horrible) ways it could go but my favourite is some variation on monster on a leash: the most terrifying being in the galaxy, who actually listens to – will sometimes take orders from! – this old clone who has been pushed out of the Imperial command structure, and yet Vader still always treats him like the most competent person in any room.
Vader's whole "Anakin Skywalker is dead" schtick is really fucking funny to me, because he is absolutely still 100% emotionally compromised by the same things Anakin was; in a situation where Cody stays with the Empire even after his chip fails (out of a desire to keep order, to stay in the only place he’s ever known, to not admit that everything he worked and sacrificed for was for nothing?) I can see him latching onto Cody really hard. And Cody being like, fuck, I guess I can use this?? Or just both of them being nihilist, suicidally depressed and really emotionally compromised about each other (and completely baffling everyone around them)? Also, please feel free to make this as creatively porny as you like, I am absolutely there for Vader coming up with ways to fuck in the suit! (Suitless Vader is very good too though.)
And then I started off just wanting Cody/Vader, but the more I think about it, the more I'm into Anakin/Cody in the Clone Wars era too. They’re both very young, very reckless and in positions of enormous responsibility; Cody was trained for it and Anakin wasn’t, but on the other hand there are a lot of things Anakin was much more prepared for than Cody. They have a lot in common, but they’re good foils for each other too, and I just think a wartime relationship between them could be really fun! Or maybe an Order 66 goes differently AU where Anakin doesn't fall and they end up on the run together? An AU where Anakin was never a Jedi at all and he and Cody meet under completely different circumstances?
Anakin Skywalker/Padme Amidala/Rex (TCW), Padme Amidala/Rex/Vader (TCW)
I really love Order-66-didn’t-happen canon divergences that are focused on what everyone does after the war ends – either pure happy fluff, or more complicated fics digging into everyone's wartime trauma and how the galaxy still has a lot of problems even if Palpatine is gone. And I adore fics where Rex is trying to figure out what to do after the war ends – again, anything from happy fluff to “oh shit, I probably have to start dealing with my trauma now” is great. And somehow Anakin/Padme/Rex has become my go-to for exploring both of these?
It’s partly my “Rex deserves nice things” agenda, and partly how I genuinely love Anakin/Padme when they’re OTT and a little dysfunctional but also trying really hard to actually make things work, and partly just the slightly chaotic desire to push the three of them together and see if it would work. All three of them have a lot in common – I love how on first glance Anakin and Padme look like the crazy ones and Rex is the sensible third, but actually, surprise, no one is the sensible third and they’re all as reckless as each other!
I mentioned Order-66 canon divergences as a setting I love for this ship, but it's definitely not the only one - trying to make it work during wartime is great too, as is time travel, or a Padme-lives Rebellion AU - I would absolutely be up for Padme/Rex/Vader too! Padme and Rex working together to try and bring Vader back to the light, or maybe enemies forced to work together to survive?
Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi/Padme Amidala/Rex (TCW)
I can’t even really explain this one, except that I read a ficlet on tumblr once years ago for this ship and it’s haunted me ever since. It’s getting into pure romance trope territory now, but there is something irresistible about someone lonely getting drawn into an established relationship, and I'd really love that for this ship. Rex absolutely does not work for me as the lonely one for this trope - he has trauma, sure, but he’s also confident and secure in his brothers’ love and I can’t see him doing the insecure pining thing - but Obi-Wan really does! So maybe a world where Obi-Wan has been lowkey pining for Anakin and Padme for a long time but assumed it could never happen, but then they open up their relationship for Rex? He’s not jealous, he cares about Rex too and he’s happy for them – he's just quietly regretting that he might have had a chance after all but now he's missed it for good – but it turns out he wasn’t too late after all!
Or, you know. Something like that, haha. This is a really out-there ship, if we did happen to match on it please just go wild with it!
Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi/Padme Amidala/Satine Kryze (TCW)
I really love Anakin/Padme and Obi-Wan/Satine, and I also really love Anakin/Obi-Wan and Padme/Satine, and I love wacky political dramas and "we have to get married for trope reasons", particularly sedoretu AUs - they're a great setup for “have to get married to a random configuration of four people for political reasons” if you want to go there. Maybe sedoretus are traditional on Naboo and Padme has to do something really traditional if she’s going to keep her position as Senator after her relationship with Anakin goes public? Or maybe after everything with Palpatine blows up, Padme has to leave the Senate and Anakin has to leave the Jedi Order, they decide to retire to Mandalore with Satine and Obi-Wan, but they need to be involved in a traditional Kalevalan marriage in order to get citizenship to move there?
I would also be really interested in 'never a Jedi' and roleswap AUs here - maybe a fic where Satine and Padme are the Jedi characters, for example, or something that looks at what Anakin and Padme's relationship would look like if he was an outer rim drifter, or what Obi-Wan's life would have looked like if he left the Jedi Order for Satine.
Ketsu Onyo/Sabine Wren (Rebels)
I’ve been obsessed with Sabine/Ketsu since I started watching Rebels and I can never have enough of them, in any period. They are just so ridiculously over the top in every way – they were at boarding school together, then they rebelled against the Empire together, then they joined a CRIME GANG together, THEN they had a massive breakup-betrayal complete with Sabine getting left for dead, then they had the slow reconciliation while rebelling against the Empire together, again – and that’s not even getting into the postseries genocide and darksaber drama round 3!
Because that’s not enough, I personally like to believe that Ketsu is from a family of New Mandalorian pacifists, just to maximise the Romeo-and-Juliet drama of it all – not to mention I like what it means for Ketsu’s character; if she’s felt like a betrayer and a villain since the first time she picked up a gun, it would be a lot easier to fall all the way into the ice-cold survivalist persona she has when she’s first introduced – but absolutely don’t feel obliged to include this! Any Sabine/Ketsu fic would be wonderful, whether that's something fleshing out their backstory together, something about their slow reconciliation happening alongside canon events, or something postseries showing what Ketsu and Sabine were doing during the Rebellion?
Hera Syndulla/Ezra Bridger (Rebels)
I do not love the “team mum and dad” roles that Hera and Kanan get put into a lot; they were in their mid-late twenties to Ezra and Sabine’s mid-late teens, which is an older sibling relationship, not parental! What I do love is age gap relationships where the older one meets the younger one again after a long absence and immediately goes “oh no they’re hot!!” and I kind of love Hera/Ezra for this?? IDK, I think grown up Ezra would be pretty attractive, and we already know Hera has a thing for scruffy human male Jedi...
And on a more serious note, I just really like the idea of Hera and Ezra becoming closer as they grieve Kanan together, as the two people with the closest relationship with him, and over time coming to appreciate each other in a new way? Developing a different relationship, postwar and now Ezra's an adult, where they're equals, instead of Hera being in charge. I would definitely also love a story where Kanan survived, or where Ezra managed to bring Kanan back - if Kanan is alive, I wouldn't want him and Hera to break up, but I absolutely would be up for Hera/Kanan/Ezra instead, or as well.
Hera Syndulla/Sabine Wren (Rebels)
Even more so than Ezra, I've always seen Hera and Sabine's relationship as friends and comrades, nothing parental. They have a really strong relationship and I can absolutely believe that Sabine has a bit of a crush on Hera; I'd really love to see their connection changing and deepening further after the finale. I find it hard to believe that Sabine spent the whole last few years of the Rebellion sitting on Lothal - I'd love to see her running missions with Hera or helping out with Jacen during this period or after. Or Hera not realising how much she cares about Sabine until she leaves to look for Ezra? Sabine supporting Hera with her grief over Kanan, and then Hera supporting Sabine in the aftermath of the Mandalorian genocide?
I generally love poly but Sabine/Ezra is my NOTP; I’m okay with them both dating Hera at the same time but please don’t have any kind of sexual or romantic relationship between them! Similarly, I am always up for Kanan lives AUs, but I wouldn't want a fic where he and Sabine were dating each other (but both dating Hera at the same time is great!)
Jango Fett/Shmi Skywalker (PT)
Jango/Shmi is one of those pairings where when I first saw it I was confused, and then I thought about it for five minutes and realised it was genius. Most of the time, to make it happen you need an absolute wrecking ball of a canon divergence AU, which is always my jam, and it puts together two characters who are really diametrically opposed together in ways I find really interesting. Shmi is a slave and still retains a strong core of morality; Jango is an amoral bounty hunter who participated in the creation/enslavement of the clones; so how would they end up together?
As noted in my DNWs, I’m not familiar with Legends canon and am not really interested in much of what I’ve read about Jango’s Legends backstory; I don’t mind if you want to work some minor details in as background worldbuilding but would prefer fic that primarily riffs off what we see in the prequels and TCW.
Anakin Skywalker/Daenerys Targaryen (any)
I’m just obsessed by the parallels involved in this pairing!! They're both just - they're both just so much. Literally anything would make me happy!
If Anakin’s dropped into the Game of Thrones universe, then I think that’s it, Dany is Emperor of Everything within about six months; she is absolutely going to push every single one of his buttons and he is going to be behind her all the way. If Dany is dropped into the Star Wars universe… that would be a lot messier, but I think it could be a really interesting character arc for her, because ‘Emperor of Everything’ is taken, or it’s about to be, so what is she going to do with her life, and how could Anakin help her? (Alternatively, Dany showing up in the Imperial era and managing to sway Vader to her side to help her overthrow the Emperor and take his place would be cracky, but very very good!)

I don’t want fic in which he did nothing wrong, because lol, he did quite a lot of things wrong, but if we’ve matched on a non-Anakin pairing and you only like Anakin as an irredeemable villain, I would prefer if you just didn't write about him at all. I absolutely enjoy Vader fic where he’s a flat-out villain – I just don’t want fic where he was always and forever evil, or that closes the door on the possibility of him ever coming back to the light.
I’ve divided up the rest of my letter into pairings rather than fandoms as I’ve requested some of the same pairings over multiple fandoms. Also for ease of sorting I’ve generally written pairing names out alphabetically; please don’t take the name order as any kind of top/bottom preference request!! (I don’t tend to care about top/bottom configurations at all.)
Ahsoka Tano/Asajj Ventress (TCW)
I love redemption arcs and enemies forced to work together by circumstances, so Ahsoka’s arc with Asajj was fantastic for me. I also really love all their parallels as the abandoned/unwanted apprentice – as much fun as Ahsoka&Maul were, Ahsoka&Asajj is the OG Ahsoka/Darksider ship for me. I really loved their interactions together, I’m disappointed they didn’t spend more time together in canon, and basically any story with the two of them would make me really happy.
Some missing details from the Wrong Jedi arc would be great, or maybe the two of them met up again during Ahsoka’s time alone before the fall of the Republic? Or if you would like to go AU, I would have loved to have seen bounty hunter Ahsoka, and/or an AU where Asajj lived and she and Ahsoka went on the run together after Order 66. (They’re both genocide survivors with complicated relationships with the people they lost; how do they feel about that?) Or maybe the happier AU where Order 66 never happened, Ahsoka went back to the Jedi, and spent the next decade in an on-and-off relationship with Asajj, supporting her back into the Light.
I have never read Dark Disciple because I refuse to accept Asajj’s death as canon lol, so feel free to ignore it, but I don’t mind if you want to work details in from it either.
Ahsoka Tano/Bo-Katan Kryze (TCW, Rebels)
I really like how their relationship has developed over time – all these minor bits of background in multiple shows adding up to this long and complicated relationship spanning decades. I just love how they’re ancient enemies who have also been allies repeatedly but they’re also never quite exactly on the same side; they both have really different agendas and goals a lot of the time. But we also don’t ever see very much of them actually working together in canon – getting to know each other, maybe saving each other, disagreements and friendship – so I would love anything fleshing that out!
I just really love how they stay in touch on and off over literal decades of war and rebellion; there’s scope for so many interesting stories there I think, as well as straight-up canon divergence AUs. Would they still have stayed in touch if Order 66 didn’t happen and Ahsoka rejoined the Jedi? What if Satine lived? I also think an Ahsoka/Bo-Katan time travel AU would be really, really funny – Bo-Katan just overreacts to everything, and meanwhile older Ahsoka is extremely chill about things that literally everyone else would be horrified by, and I think the two of them together, thrown into the past, would either fix everything or break everything differently in an extremely entertaining way.
Ahsoka Tano/Anakin Skywalker/Rex (TCW), Ahsoka Tano/Darth Vader/Rex (Rebels)
For Anakin/Ahsoka/Rex, I love the contrast between their playful friendships (they’re all so young!!) and the brutal reality of the war they’re stuck in, and how their initial relationships (Master-Padawan, General-Captain-Commander) get broken down as time goes on. I’d particularly love a canon divergence for this – Order 66 divergence (maybe Anakin goes with Ahsoka and Rex to Mandalore?) or maybe an AU where the war drags on for another decade and they sink into complete nihilistic codependency. But missing moments from canon would be lovely too (feel free to age Ahsoka up or not, as you prefer)!
And then of course everything gets even messier in Rebels! I loved the Rex-Ahsoka reunion and the Ahsoka-Vader trauma, but I am still disappointed we never got to see Rex reacting to Vader (though “Skywalker was one of the best Jedi of them all” was certainly a heartbreaking line). I would love anything that filled this gap with some kind of relationship between all three of them! Anything would be great, I just want all the emotional entanglements, the what-ifs and the guilt, knowing that none of them ought to care so much about people on the other side but unable to stop themselves. Time travel, canon divergence AU where Rex went with Ahsoka to Malachor, enemies forced to work together by circumstance, any of them being taken prisoner by the other(s) who then attempt to turn them... all would be really compelling!
Ahsoka Tano/Reva Sevander (Rebels, OWK, Mandalorian)
They still haven't met in canon (yet!) but I love the parallels between them and I think they have a lot in common; I'd absolutely love a story about them, set in any era. Maybe Reva runs into Ahsoka at some point after leaving the Inquisitors and learned more about the Jedi with her - or maybe they don't run into each other until much later, after the fall of the Empire? (The latter probably makes it easier to work around the Ahsoka-doesn't-know-about-Vader-until-Malachor issue, though I could absolutely buy Reva deciding not to shatter Ahsoka's illusions if they met earlier, too.) If you wanted to go full canon divergence AU, I'd absolutely adore a story where Reva managed to avoid the Inquisitors and ended up a jaded drifter like Kanan instead - or a happier AU where Order 66 never happened!
I enjoy all kinds of Reva joins the disaster lineage AUs, but particularly ones where Ahsoka is her Jedi Master, either formally in a happier Order 66 never happened AU where she rejoined the Jedi, or just in a slightly less bleak Order 66 divergence. I am absolutely up for messy Master/Padawan relationships - and Ahsoka/Reva in this context would just be really hot to me, as well as fitting in perfectly with a lot of what I already like about Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka's relationships - weird age gaps, kind of unconventional/dysfunctional compared to the Jedi norm even before Anakin fucked everything up, but ultimately very loving. But an AU where Reva is Obi-Wan, Anakin or even Yoda's padawan and she ends up in a relationship with Ahsoka would also be excellent!
Echo/Fives (TCW)
Echo/Fives is one of those ships that’s basically canon in my head, along with Cody/Rex, and it’s just as fucking tragic; Fives died not knowing that Echo was still alive, and Echo finally made it back too late to see Fives again. I would absolutely love any kind of fic about their romance – whether it’s fixing the tragedy or just digging in deeper to the sadness of it all; I do like canon-typical sadness as well as happy fix-its! Or just good old-fashioned life (and love) during wartime! I always love fic that digs down into clone culture - I particularly enjoy military-life tropes (PLEASE let them be assholes to each other sometimes!!) and sci-fi themed fic that leans into how clones are genuinely different from natborns (not better or worse, just different!).
Something about what life is like for Echo and Fives as ordinary troopers would be really fascinating – looking at the difference in training and/or status between them and the command-class clones who make up most of the named TCW characters; what the culture is like in the ranks where most clones may never even meet their Jedi. Did Fives have an embarrassing crush on, say, Cody when he was a shiny back on Kamino? (Yes.) Or life on Kamino – what was their ARC training like? Or just life as part of the 501st? Or maybe time travel – Echo going back to try and save Fives, maybe, or vice-verse?
Echo/Fives/Tup (TCW)
Everything I said about Echo/Fives above, really, except more so, because Tup’s story is yet another level of tragedy. Happy fix-it, canon-level what-ifs and angst, straight-up porn, it’s all good here. See above for my general love for cloneshipping/the default among most clones is sex-positive poly (which doesn't mean that everyone likes to fuck, just that for those who do enjoy sex and/or romance, monogomous couples are not the default). For reference, I really enjoy Fives/Hardcase, Fives/Tup, Fives/Rex, Echo/Rex and Echo/Fives/Rex as other background ships for the Dominos.
I’m particularly into this ship either as the focal point for an extremely satisfying “Order 66 is subverted/happened differently” AU where at least the three of them survived, or as something really bittersweet from the brief time in canon where all three of them were in the same place at the same time. If you wanted to explore Pong Krell angst, I’m all there for that too: my DNW around fallen Jedi is specific to fics where, like, Character A time-travels back two years before the Clone Wars and discovers that Pong Krell is already evil even though the conditions that led to him falling haven’t happened yet. I’m absolutely fine with canon-era fics where he is an antagonist!
Cody/Fox (TCW)
If Echo/Fives is my go-to for exploring what life is like for regular clone troopers, then Cody/Fox is my favourite window on life for the commander class. I love them both individually, and I really like their parallels as dedicated by-the-book commanders with a hidden asshole streak. I love the idea that as commanders with two of the most prestigous jobs in the GAR, they've been rivals jockeying to be the 'best' for most of their lives - rivals who know each other more deeply and understand each other better than anyone else is another favourite trope for me, and I'd love some of this for Cody and Fox!
And if Rex and Wolffe are the rebel survivors, then Cody and Fox are two of the most prominent clones who don’t rebel – I would be really interested in darker fic for these two, either in the lead up to Order 66 or after it under the Empire. Although an AU where they did rebel together would be lovely too! I’m also really fond of prewar Kamino as a setting, or life-during-wartime stolen moments. And I always absolutely love Order 66 didn’t happen AUs, and fics that focus on clone characters trying to find a place for themselves after the war. Order-66 AUs don't have to be fluffy, either - I'd really love something digging into survivor's guilt, and how fucked up it was that the Republic used the clones the way they did, and how Cody and Fox deal with the trauma of having been in command in that situation. Do they feel complicit in having sent some of their brothers to their deaths?
Cody/Anakin (TCW); Cody/Vader (TCW, PT)
Lately I can’t stop thinking about Cody/Vader! It would be so fucked up and I'm just really here for that! There are lots of (sad, horrible) ways it could go but my favourite is some variation on monster on a leash: the most terrifying being in the galaxy, who actually listens to – will sometimes take orders from! – this old clone who has been pushed out of the Imperial command structure, and yet Vader still always treats him like the most competent person in any room.
Vader's whole "Anakin Skywalker is dead" schtick is really fucking funny to me, because he is absolutely still 100% emotionally compromised by the same things Anakin was; in a situation where Cody stays with the Empire even after his chip fails (out of a desire to keep order, to stay in the only place he’s ever known, to not admit that everything he worked and sacrificed for was for nothing?) I can see him latching onto Cody really hard. And Cody being like, fuck, I guess I can use this?? Or just both of them being nihilist, suicidally depressed and really emotionally compromised about each other (and completely baffling everyone around them)? Also, please feel free to make this as creatively porny as you like, I am absolutely there for Vader coming up with ways to fuck in the suit! (Suitless Vader is very good too though.)
And then I started off just wanting Cody/Vader, but the more I think about it, the more I'm into Anakin/Cody in the Clone Wars era too. They’re both very young, very reckless and in positions of enormous responsibility; Cody was trained for it and Anakin wasn’t, but on the other hand there are a lot of things Anakin was much more prepared for than Cody. They have a lot in common, but they’re good foils for each other too, and I just think a wartime relationship between them could be really fun! Or maybe an Order 66 goes differently AU where Anakin doesn't fall and they end up on the run together? An AU where Anakin was never a Jedi at all and he and Cody meet under completely different circumstances?
Anakin Skywalker/Padme Amidala/Rex (TCW), Padme Amidala/Rex/Vader (TCW)
I really love Order-66-didn’t-happen canon divergences that are focused on what everyone does after the war ends – either pure happy fluff, or more complicated fics digging into everyone's wartime trauma and how the galaxy still has a lot of problems even if Palpatine is gone. And I adore fics where Rex is trying to figure out what to do after the war ends – again, anything from happy fluff to “oh shit, I probably have to start dealing with my trauma now” is great. And somehow Anakin/Padme/Rex has become my go-to for exploring both of these?
It’s partly my “Rex deserves nice things” agenda, and partly how I genuinely love Anakin/Padme when they’re OTT and a little dysfunctional but also trying really hard to actually make things work, and partly just the slightly chaotic desire to push the three of them together and see if it would work. All three of them have a lot in common – I love how on first glance Anakin and Padme look like the crazy ones and Rex is the sensible third, but actually, surprise, no one is the sensible third and they’re all as reckless as each other!
I mentioned Order-66 canon divergences as a setting I love for this ship, but it's definitely not the only one - trying to make it work during wartime is great too, as is time travel, or a Padme-lives Rebellion AU - I would absolutely be up for Padme/Rex/Vader too! Padme and Rex working together to try and bring Vader back to the light, or maybe enemies forced to work together to survive?
Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi/Padme Amidala/Rex (TCW)
I can’t even really explain this one, except that I read a ficlet on tumblr once years ago for this ship and it’s haunted me ever since. It’s getting into pure romance trope territory now, but there is something irresistible about someone lonely getting drawn into an established relationship, and I'd really love that for this ship. Rex absolutely does not work for me as the lonely one for this trope - he has trauma, sure, but he’s also confident and secure in his brothers’ love and I can’t see him doing the insecure pining thing - but Obi-Wan really does! So maybe a world where Obi-Wan has been lowkey pining for Anakin and Padme for a long time but assumed it could never happen, but then they open up their relationship for Rex? He’s not jealous, he cares about Rex too and he’s happy for them – he's just quietly regretting that he might have had a chance after all but now he's missed it for good – but it turns out he wasn’t too late after all!
Or, you know. Something like that, haha. This is a really out-there ship, if we did happen to match on it please just go wild with it!
Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi/Padme Amidala/Satine Kryze (TCW)
I really love Anakin/Padme and Obi-Wan/Satine, and I also really love Anakin/Obi-Wan and Padme/Satine, and I love wacky political dramas and "we have to get married for trope reasons", particularly sedoretu AUs - they're a great setup for “have to get married to a random configuration of four people for political reasons” if you want to go there. Maybe sedoretus are traditional on Naboo and Padme has to do something really traditional if she’s going to keep her position as Senator after her relationship with Anakin goes public? Or maybe after everything with Palpatine blows up, Padme has to leave the Senate and Anakin has to leave the Jedi Order, they decide to retire to Mandalore with Satine and Obi-Wan, but they need to be involved in a traditional Kalevalan marriage in order to get citizenship to move there?
I would also be really interested in 'never a Jedi' and roleswap AUs here - maybe a fic where Satine and Padme are the Jedi characters, for example, or something that looks at what Anakin and Padme's relationship would look like if he was an outer rim drifter, or what Obi-Wan's life would have looked like if he left the Jedi Order for Satine.
Ketsu Onyo/Sabine Wren (Rebels)
I’ve been obsessed with Sabine/Ketsu since I started watching Rebels and I can never have enough of them, in any period. They are just so ridiculously over the top in every way – they were at boarding school together, then they rebelled against the Empire together, then they joined a CRIME GANG together, THEN they had a massive breakup-betrayal complete with Sabine getting left for dead, then they had the slow reconciliation while rebelling against the Empire together, again – and that’s not even getting into the postseries genocide and darksaber drama round 3!
Because that’s not enough, I personally like to believe that Ketsu is from a family of New Mandalorian pacifists, just to maximise the Romeo-and-Juliet drama of it all – not to mention I like what it means for Ketsu’s character; if she’s felt like a betrayer and a villain since the first time she picked up a gun, it would be a lot easier to fall all the way into the ice-cold survivalist persona she has when she’s first introduced – but absolutely don’t feel obliged to include this! Any Sabine/Ketsu fic would be wonderful, whether that's something fleshing out their backstory together, something about their slow reconciliation happening alongside canon events, or something postseries showing what Ketsu and Sabine were doing during the Rebellion?
Hera Syndulla/Ezra Bridger (Rebels)
I do not love the “team mum and dad” roles that Hera and Kanan get put into a lot; they were in their mid-late twenties to Ezra and Sabine’s mid-late teens, which is an older sibling relationship, not parental! What I do love is age gap relationships where the older one meets the younger one again after a long absence and immediately goes “oh no they’re hot!!” and I kind of love Hera/Ezra for this?? IDK, I think grown up Ezra would be pretty attractive, and we already know Hera has a thing for scruffy human male Jedi...
And on a more serious note, I just really like the idea of Hera and Ezra becoming closer as they grieve Kanan together, as the two people with the closest relationship with him, and over time coming to appreciate each other in a new way? Developing a different relationship, postwar and now Ezra's an adult, where they're equals, instead of Hera being in charge. I would definitely also love a story where Kanan survived, or where Ezra managed to bring Kanan back - if Kanan is alive, I wouldn't want him and Hera to break up, but I absolutely would be up for Hera/Kanan/Ezra instead, or as well.
Hera Syndulla/Sabine Wren (Rebels)
Even more so than Ezra, I've always seen Hera and Sabine's relationship as friends and comrades, nothing parental. They have a really strong relationship and I can absolutely believe that Sabine has a bit of a crush on Hera; I'd really love to see their connection changing and deepening further after the finale. I find it hard to believe that Sabine spent the whole last few years of the Rebellion sitting on Lothal - I'd love to see her running missions with Hera or helping out with Jacen during this period or after. Or Hera not realising how much she cares about Sabine until she leaves to look for Ezra? Sabine supporting Hera with her grief over Kanan, and then Hera supporting Sabine in the aftermath of the Mandalorian genocide?
I generally love poly but Sabine/Ezra is my NOTP; I’m okay with them both dating Hera at the same time but please don’t have any kind of sexual or romantic relationship between them! Similarly, I am always up for Kanan lives AUs, but I wouldn't want a fic where he and Sabine were dating each other (but both dating Hera at the same time is great!)
Jango Fett/Shmi Skywalker (PT)
Jango/Shmi is one of those pairings where when I first saw it I was confused, and then I thought about it for five minutes and realised it was genius. Most of the time, to make it happen you need an absolute wrecking ball of a canon divergence AU, which is always my jam, and it puts together two characters who are really diametrically opposed together in ways I find really interesting. Shmi is a slave and still retains a strong core of morality; Jango is an amoral bounty hunter who participated in the creation/enslavement of the clones; so how would they end up together?
As noted in my DNWs, I’m not familiar with Legends canon and am not really interested in much of what I’ve read about Jango’s Legends backstory; I don’t mind if you want to work some minor details in as background worldbuilding but would prefer fic that primarily riffs off what we see in the prequels and TCW.
Anakin Skywalker/Daenerys Targaryen (any)
I’m just obsessed by the parallels involved in this pairing!! They're both just - they're both just so much. Literally anything would make me happy!
If Anakin’s dropped into the Game of Thrones universe, then I think that’s it, Dany is Emperor of Everything within about six months; she is absolutely going to push every single one of his buttons and he is going to be behind her all the way. If Dany is dropped into the Star Wars universe… that would be a lot messier, but I think it could be a really interesting character arc for her, because ‘Emperor of Everything’ is taken, or it’s about to be, so what is she going to do with her life, and how could Anakin help her? (Alternatively, Dany showing up in the Imperial era and managing to sway Vader to her side to help her overthrow the Emperor and take his place would be cracky, but very very good!)
